Y-M2 self-ligating bracket is a fixed orthodontic metal bracket. Adopting the round-square integrated spherical design and self-ligating clip structure, it is bonded, activated and removed by orthodontists. Patients are mainly responsible for daily oral care and follow-up visits as required.
1. Self-ligating structure for light-force orthodontic treatment.
2. Round-square integrated, smooth rounded surface, less irritation to oral mucosa and low risk of oral ulcers.
3. Specially designed clip, smooth opening & locking with stable performance.
4. 80-mesh base for stronger bonding, bonding strength increased by 20%.
5. Upgraded material to reduce friction between bracket and archwire.
6. Polished shiny spherical surface; tooth number marked on bracket base for easy clinical identification.
7. Available in Roth and MBT prescriptions, covering Maxillary 5-5 and Mandibular 5-5; hook-equipped version is optional.
Collect intraoral scan data and X-ray films of patients. Refer to Y-M2 parameters including torque, tip, in/out and width under Roth / MBT prescriptions to formulate orthodontic treatment plans and select proper bracket specifications for each tooth.
1. Polish, etch and dry tooth surface, then apply primer and orthodontic composite resin adhesive.
2. Use positioning tools, identify teeth by the tooth number on bracket base, and seat Y-M2 brackets precisely on target tooth surfaces.
3. Light-cure resin adhesive and remove excess bonding material on enamel. The 80-mesh base enhances resin interlocking and improves bonding strength.
1. Open the Y-M2 self-ligating clip with an orthodontic probe; the clip features smooth opening feel.
2. Insert corresponding nickel-titanium archwire and close the self-ligating clip to fix the archwire. No ligature tie is required.
3. The low-friction material enables light-force tooth movement.
4. Select hook-style brackets for intermaxillary traction when needed, to mount elastics for occlusal adjustment.
l Alignment phase: Use thin NiTi round archwires. The low-friction property facilitates light-force alignment of dentition.
l Leveling & space closure phase: Gradually switch to thicker round and rectangular archwires. Open self-ligating clips to replace archwires as required. Use preset Roth / MBT torque & tip values to control tooth angulation and rotation.
l Routine follow-up interval: 6–8 weeks. Check bracket looseness and clip closure status at each visit.
Once orthodontic objectives are achieved, the orthodontist removes Y-M2 brackets, polishes enamel surface, takes dental impressions and fabricates retainers.
Y-M2 is a fixed orthodontic appliance. Patients must NOT remove brackets by themselves.
✅ Recommended food: Soft food such as rice, noodles, steamed egg and fish. Cut fruits into small pieces and chew with posterior teeth.
❌ Forbidden food: Hard food (nuts, bones, ice cubes, hard apples) and sticky food (chewing gum, caramel, rice cake). Avoid biting directly with front teeth to prevent bracket debonding and archwire deformation.
Y-M2 has a smooth spherical surface, which traps less food debris than traditional square brackets. However, consistent cleaning is still required.
1. Brush teeth after every meal with an orthodontic toothbrush around brackets for at least 2 minutes.
2. Use interdental brushes and water flossers to clean interdental spaces and areas under brackets. Use dental floss for interproximal cleaning to prevent caries and gingivitis.
1. Mucosal irritation: The spherical design greatly reduces the risk of mucosal irritation. If friction occurs, temporarily cover the bracket with orthodontic wax. Seek clinical consultation if recurrent oral ulcers appear.
2. Loose or fallen-off bracket: Keep the detached bracket safely and contact the dentist immediately for appointment.
3. Accidental clip pop-out or archwire sliding out: Do NOT reset with hands or probes by force. Contact clinic as soon as possible.
1. Attend follow-up visits strictly as scheduled; do not extend the interval without permission.
2. If elastics are prescribed by your doctor, wear them for the required duration continuously. Random interruption will compromise tooth movement outcomes.
3. Wear retainers after orthodontic treatment to prevent tooth relapse.
1. Y-M2 is available in two major prescription systems: Roth and MBT, including full sets for Maxillary 5-5 and Mandibular 5-5. Select hook models according to treatment plans.
2. Spherical self-ligating design plus low-friction material enables light-force treatment. The 80-mesh base improves bonding strength and lowers bracket debonding rate.
3. Stable clip structure delivers smooth opening and locking, reduces clinical operation difficulty and shortens chair time.
